My dorm has thin walls and the neighbors are always really loud....anyone have any ideas for good earplugs i can use for sleeping??

Go to the nearest drugstore and buy the blue ones (they’re the ones that are shaped like bullets and made from foam, not the kind that are made from plastic/wax or whatever). The purple ones are not as good as the blue ones, IMO, but both will work okay. The pink ones aren’t that great, but they sometimes come bundled with a pink sleep mask which is awesome (the mask, that is, it’s excellent). You’ll want to get a lot of the blue ones because if you use them on a nightly basis, you’ll lose them/run out.

I have no idea what the brands are, sorry.

Great question!

I use the purple ones - haven’t tried the blue. They carry a variety at most any drug store with cute names like “Sleep Right Tonight” etc. The package will warn you about how many decibels they cancel. Be careful not get construction or shooting range grade earplugs. You’ll NEVER hear the alarm in the morning.

i use the cvs brand ones. they are green foam ones and in packs of 30 for $3.99. one box lasts a few months. you can generally use one pair of them for at least 4 to 5 nights if not longer.

any that cancel out up to 60 D? my walls are really thin and neighbors are REALLY loud…sigh

Have you tried talking to your neighbors?

Perhaps they just don’t realize how loud they are.

When it gets loud enough that earplugs don’t solve the problem, you need to give them a talk. Over 60dB is grounds for a noise violation ticket where I live.
