My friend's D received a scholarship interview notification yesterday, dated the day before, it means some students are finding out their decision earlier than last year. Good luck to everybody!

Is that sent in the mail or through email?

Was that for the Danforth Scholarship?

What scholarship did your friend's D apply for?

Is this for the academic fellowship programs (i.e. 12 students half and 4 students full tuition covered for each subject area/department)? I thought those wouldn't be announced until late March/April??

I called today. The Danforth letters will be sent out next week. We should all hear by the first week in March.

omg. two weeks and we'll all know? i wasn't expecting until early april like the ivies and other top colleges.

so if you applied regular decision, without the scholarship, you'll know a week after the Danforth scholars?

Sorry, I wasn't clear.
The Danforth's will all know by the first week in March.

I got in ED, so I didn't ask about RD. I know you will find out online before you get the letter.

Got a little nervous based on the earlier post and called admissions for clarification. Not sure what scholarship Cressmom's friend's D applied for, but it probably wasn't the Ervin or Rodriguez.

According to the office, those'll be sent in early March, and will be posted on the website prior to mailing.

do people know/will they post when university scholars program info comes out?... that way one could know if they missed it. (because do they send out USP rejections?) it'd be amazing if that came out in early march, too.

does anyone know when the notifications come out for the scholarship apps? they should send you a letter telling you that you DIDN'T get it too, shouldnt they?

supermom: No, I'm not stalking you, but you wouldn't really pass up a full scholarship to Brandeis to go to Wash U would you????? Congratulations, BTW....

LOL@Rodney!!

My own personal stalker?? Now THAT'd be moving up in the world!

What can I say? Let's see . . .

"D has a healthy respect for the excellence of two top notch institutions. She is sincerely torn by equal affection to both bastions of higher education, and is reserving final judgment until such time as she is able to make a fully informed choice."

How's that for a soundbite? :-)

SuperMom, would a fresh new visit to the two institutions make a difference? My S was in the undecided position after acceptances, visiting again helped a lot, and the money weight too ;)

I didn't even visit schools before I applied. Maybe not the smartest thing to do, but my strategy was just to apply to all the schools that interested me and then visit my top schools that accepted me. I think it helps because I wouldn't have wanted to visit the school, fall in love with it, and then get rejected.

same here tehlikel ask

My friend received a call this morning inviting her to finalist weekend! I think she applied for Honorary Scholars...

Good luck to everyone!

Yep, Honorary Scholars finalists are getting a call.

There are 8 Compton finalists (that's all I know, sorry!)

tehlikeli,

my friend took this approach a couple years ago and got into every school to which she applied

the majority of these schools are considered WashU's supposed competitors

she did not apply to WashU tho
