Does anyone here knows about this program? Can you please tell me more. Do they help you in finding internship, or you have to find one, and then they will give you credit for it?

my friend is in one. from what he tells me he just gives in his resume to the dept that handles co-op and they send it out to employers in the field he's looking to get into. then from there they contact him and schedule interviews. you can also look for your own opportunities, you just have to let the dept. know. at least that's my understanding of it. i wanted to go to northeastern because of it.

^That's essentially it.

They give you all the resources you need to find a job, basically holding your hand through the process of looking for jobs to apply to, writing a resume, interviewing, and entering the work world. Co-op schools have lots of connections around their city with places that understand the system and have had co-op students before. At my school, we have an online list of places that are hiring students. Like BP said, you can also look for opportunities on your own, and have in approved by your co-op advisor, which is pretty common.

We don't get "credit" per se, we're a 5 year school and we do 8 semesters of classes between 3 6-month internships. We're still considered students during those times, so we can still live in dorms, use health insurance, and use campus facilities, but we work full time and don't take classes or pay tuition.
