Essays: Very good. Had many opinions on them.

I'm incredulous. Did you somehow lie on your applications, suspended 989,746,300 times or get poor recommendations because with those scores I'm surprised you didn't get into one of those schools.

Not at all. I sent 2 extra glowing recommendations(and my regular were pretty good too), I did not lie(knowing that they have no way of knowing since im in Pakistan), and can't find anything wrong with my app.

No safety for any applicant on the list---for all anticipating applications next year. You have got to have a couple of safety schools on your list---schools where you are well over the 75th centile for grades, scores and where the acceptance rate is well ove 50% or you may end up in the same boat as the OP

I go to arguably the most competitive high school in Pakistan. I thought id get into Grinnell cuz ive seen ppl who dont even compare well get in. And yes skater girl, thats a 2400 in Phy, Chem, Math IIC. And thats Washington Univ in St Louis.

F* Life, although im done with the crying part now.

Ok I will say this gently, you have amazing stats no doubt but unfortunately so do many other thousands of kids...those are all great and highly ranked schools/ivies. I am just surprised that you didn't apply to at least two that you knew hands down you would get into, not such rediculous safties that they would outright reject you but good level schools to which you were a safe match or slightly above. I am equally surprised that your high school advisor didn't insist you do that especially THIS year, a year filled with way too many kids applying to too few spots.
Clearly you are a very bright kid, there is a website which lists all the colleges in the U.S. that still have a few spots, I will locate it and put it up for you as well as any other person in this spot. I think many schools out there would LOVE to have someone with your credentials! There is always that infamous gap year that so many refer to and that can be an outstanding opportunity for major growth, responsibilities and independence and then you start fresh again applying but maybe next time throwing a few more safties or likelies in there. I really feel your situation will work itself out, what are your thoughts? I will include the link as soon as I find it. Good luck!

One more thing, were you waitlisted at any schools? If so I would have your advisor call the admissions office and gently explain your situation as well as follow up with a heartfelt but not desperate letter explaining how you will go if accepted, its your first choice,etc....keep us posted.

I just got rejected from Brown, Upenn, also Duke.
Waitlist at Middlebury and Tufts
Still waiting to hear from Pomona but I know that it's a rejection...
