They “officially” have until May 1st. UCSD releases admission on a rolling basis, so don’t worry. They’ll get to you soon enough.

ucla released 5% of there admissions between may 1 and 15

source: UCLA rep, confirmed by UCD TAG rep and UCB rep

^do you mean april 1st-15th

or is this from last year?

last year and may

hm so this means they don’t have to stick to any deadlines but WE do?

I wonder if that 5% of applications are EXTREME borderline? So basically, if I don’t hear from UCLA by May 1 . . . I’m sending one heck of a muffin basket (most likely covered in diamonds). Because that would be far too early for them to admit any appeals, yes?

is this rumor true that most UC’s send out rejections towards the end??? :(

I actually don’t think so, saba. I think I was one of the last people to receive an email from Davis, and I got in (though no TAG, so I don’t know if that slowed something down). I think that the people most nervous (and thus most impatient) are those who aren’t as likely to get in to begin with, so it feels like the longest wait for those who get rejected in the end. But that’s just my guess. I’m not basing this on anyone stats other than my own, and you’re all free to contradict me to no end. I also know that in high school my rejections came at the same time as everyone else’s acceptances (that was lovely, btw).

I’m going frickin’ nuts waiting for these letters. I’m about to cave in and just send my SIR to UCSB lol.

Global Studies/Asian Studies
GPA: 3.0
Pending: UCI, UCLA, UCSD
Accepted: UCSB

yeah im a transfer student, waiting to hear back from UCI…considering there is less than 2 weeks till deadline, im getting worried…has anyone receive rejections from uci yet? because i read somewhere that they wait till the end for rejections…I am an Informatics major, i have no TAG, no IGETC and am applying to transfer as a sophmore…does it matter what the major is? Informatics is like computer science…

Geministar8806,

I really want to know where you end up getting in or not, so please let me know!

@predicthisflick,

Sure lol. Why exactly?

ok i still havent heard back from uci and ucsd either and its the 18th already… im getting really nervous.

^^^I thought I was the only one, but the fact that other people are in the same sitch doesn’t make me as nervous, but it’s already knee deep into april, what is the hold up!?!?!

well i know some people that got their acceptance to uci just this morning…i did not…but it gives me hope…i just hope they arent saving rejects till the end =/

I’m also waiting on UCSD and UCI…

(and Cal and UCLA, but those I can wait for).

I was on the same boat as you until 2weeks ago…

Admitted: UCSD,UCSB,UCI,UCR
Pending: UCLA,UCB
Major: Psychology, and political science for UCR
GPA: 3.8+

Best of luck to you !!

@ Geministar8806

We have similar GPAs, and I’m applying for Fall 2010, so I would just like to know where you end up getting admitted.

If you’re wondering about my stats (or if anyone wants to chance me):

Major: Philosophy
GPA: 3.0-3.2
Applying: UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCSB, USC
TAG: UCI, UCSB, UCSD (I think, but does it matter for UCSD?)
Personal Statement: 8/10
EC: President/Creator of the Philosophy Club
Letter of Recommendation (from): a philosophy professor w/ Ph.d (I realize this only applies to USC)

Transferring from UCI so my GPA probably won’t mean much to those coming from CCCs

Major: Architecture (Cal, UCLA), Environmental Studies (UCSB, UCSD)
GPA: 3.38
Accepted: UCSB, UCSD
Pending: Cal, UCLA (invited to Open House)

Major: Philosophy
GPA: 3.82
Accepted: None so far, still pending
Applying: UCSB, UCLA, Cal, UCSD, UCD, UCI, UCSC

Yeah, I’m beginning to think I’m an outlier at this point… it’s April 20th and I haven’t even gotten into UCSB.
