yeh, looks like they dont send them out all in one go. i just got it. so its not a likely letter. just like that last one they sent out saying they will be reading our apps a lot

I just got the email (‘Life after Brown’). Although I do certainly not believe it to be a likely letter, I can’t help but being a little relieved that I got it :)

^same here! i know that it’s just a mass email but, honestly, I feel relieved. phew

@megan12

link please!

^ I second that. I could’ve sworn Brown was the only ivy that had yet to send them out

D received the Life After Brown email today. So, everyone that applied RD has now received both emails?

I have no idea how to post a link (computer illiterate, I’m afraid). But I saw it under the post “LIKELY LETTERS”. I think it was post #6.

Had a good laugh last night - S announced that he finally got that email that everyone’s been talking about. So you can all relax - eventually, everyone will be getting one.

LOOOOOOOL, Oh you Brown applicants are the most neurotic CC’ers out of all the other ivy league posters.

Haha. A similar thread is on going in Columbia. This is hilarious! Btw, I am also hoping for a “life after” email in the 3rd round.

D got likely letter from brown today. Has one from Dartmouth, too. Now to decide. Help

Can someone please explain to me,
What exactly are likely letters? Does the school really send out letters to applicants they think are better suited for the school?

No. And @tfairy is just trying to rile you up. Pay no mind.

despicableme: Many schools send out likely letters to applicants that they are 99% sure they are going to accept. These letters are usually sent in February or March. These students are typically academic superstars or have some quality that makes them extremely attractive. The school hopes that by informing the student early, there is a greater chance the student will matriculate. It’s really just a marketing tool designed to increase the matriculation rate for desirable students.

@fireandrain Thank you! Really helped to calm my nerves. I can’t wait to hear from Brown! Crossing my fingers for an acceptance!!!
