Anyone still waiting for aid package?

Waiting on UNC. Impatiently.

got UNC a few days ago.

For those of you who still are waiting for your financial aid packages:

Was your information sent "late?" In our case, we thought we had all of our documentation in well before the deadlines, only to learn at the end of March that they wanted add'l. info. Our file was not complete until March 30.

Are you concerned that there will be less grant money available because your application is being considered after everyon else's?

Is #2 a legitimate concern?

STILL waiting for USC :(

We're still waiting on VA Tech. We were one of the families they flagged for audit. We sent our tax forms in the 2nd week of March and fin aid says we should be getting the package sometime this week. As soon as it comes, we can wrap up the selection process.

What the?!?!? jf215, you recieved your FA already, and you're in Philly? I live an hour away, and I still haven't heard... :(

Still waiting for two schools, this is very frustrating. Yes, out stuff was in on time, in fact we sent it super early! Both schools we are waiting on say "this week" they will mail. I think it's horrible how close to the May 1 deadline they make you wait.

My daughter followed Jamimom's advice to email the financial aid office. She received a response within a half hour that they would review on Monday and mail her letter. She responded and asked if they could email the info as well. She received her email finaid offer on Monday. Thank you, Jamimom!

I suggest you follow up with a phone call as well. The one package we were waiting on came, the second? I called about. It was sitting in their office, somehow overlooked, complete since March. They apologized profusely and promised us a mailing by next Tuesday. I hate to think how long we would have waited had I not called!

Ack! I called one of my colleges today, and they claimed I hadn't submitted the FAFSA. I then promptly called FAFSA, who told me I had submitted it Feb. 3rd. I then called the college back, and after explaining the situation, the financial aid officer gruffly told me I'd have an answer on Monday. SIGH
