I am attending a Community College this Fall and I need some advice on what I have to do to transfer to a Good College. Can someone please write about what you did to get into Cornell from a Community college? Did you stay 2 years to get your associates degree and than transfer or did you complete certain core classes and transfer after certain amount of credits? I really want to attend Cornell CALS-AEM or ILR . Any suggestions?

it's possible, especially if your permanent residence is in the state of New York. I know Cornell takes hundreds of transfers a year, with a small percentage of them from CC (that's community college, NOT college conf)

I am going to try to transfer into Cornells ILR program from a small private libearl arts two year college.

Good luck guys! I hope you all make it. After all, then you get the Cornell diploma and cornell degree right? Doesn't matter if you started off in some small, relatively unknown college. The great education and general atmosphere at Cornell is definitely worth the try.

I'm transferring in from a community college. I have a 3.95, studied abroad, 6 month internship, president of a school club, volunteered every week at multiple organizations and worked full time (30 Hours+). My CC is in NY but it's not one of the guaranteed admission colleges. So I got accepted under a normal admission setting. Was accepted into AEM. I also finished enough credits to complete my AA but didn't receive it. Hope that helps.

congrats tehrahk- you sound really driven!

thanks dande, I can't wait to start Cornell. !
