<p>It doesn't necessarily work that way-- if there is someone waitlisting that section, you will get booted to the bottom of the waitlist of that section while #1 on the waitlist moves into course.</p>

<p>Does housing work essentially the same way too? Can you just switcharoo between two rooms if both members allow it?</p>
<p>That won't work. I tried to switch into a different math lecture/discussion, but then found out that I would be waitlisted for my new discussion, so I tried to switch back into my old discussion, but I couldn't do it because people were wait-listed for the class so #1 on the wait-list got in instead.</p>
