Anyone who got denied in high school but got accepted after 1st year transfer?

hi, so i have a quick question.
for those of you who got accepted after 1st year transfer, do you know if colleges keep a record of your application or even just a record of the fact that you applied once before? or do they dispose of these documents right after admission decisions are released? i’ve heard people tell me both so i’m curious.
thanks!

this thread gives me so, so, SO much hope.

bump for updates

[ul][]btw i appealed my early decision application but was rejected once more.

Someone with a success story should add more to this thread.

In high school, I applied to Cornell and was rejected. I ended up going to Stony Brook and had a miserable time there. I ended up applying as a transfer to 7 top schools for Fall 2010 transfer, but ended up getting rejected everywhere. Through the encouragement of a Cornell admission committee, I ended up applying to Cornell and was accepted as an AEM major. In the end, I matured significantly during my time at SB and showed this to the admission committee.
