Anyone who had this similar situation before...Please help

My son is in a California public school. Because his former counselor got promoted, there is an interim counselor right now and I just heard that he will have a new counselor starting on Oct.10.

I'm a bit worried due to 1) new counselor is not familiar with son's HS, 2) my son wants to apply EA, and not sure if the new counselor can finish a fair school report within that short period of time.

I'm thinking to ask the school to let my son works with another counselor (there are 3 counselors in total, the other two are veterans. But my son is assigned to this newcomer by his last name).

At the same time, will this hurt my son's relationship with the new counselor? Really appreciate if can share some thought and ideas with me.

If you don’t have a parents brag sheet and/or student resume, create one now. I made one based on old brag sheet posts. Our GC doesn’t know our son well, he also asked a teacher that was close to him to offer to help the new GC.

Thank you MizzBee.

My son just finished a brag sheet and a resume (one of the last year’s senior friend shared him the forms). The brag sheet is like a student profile answering some questions, not completed by me though.
You made a very good point, even my son’s former GC doesn’t know my son well. I think to ask a teacher to help out the new counselor is a good idea.
