Anyone without a supplemental essay got in?

I'm just curious if this matters?

I got in without one. If you have any specific question pm me or something.

I didn't do it and I got in...

I didn't bother, got in.

I did one and got deferred. A pattern, maybe? lol

i was just curious maybe it shows lack of interest?

To break the pattern...

I did a long one and got in.

I did a long one, as well.

I got in.

-- Tri

Wrote one on an aspect of myself I felt wasn't portrayed in my application. Deferred.

i did one, a rather short one, and got in.

Short one and got in.

I didn't do one but I was accepted.

Didn't do it, was accepted.

Wrote a very personal one and they kicked me in the groin.

Wrote a very personal, emotional one and was accepted.

so is the general consensus that the optional essay helps? (as long as it is meaningful and pertinent)

about 800 words - accepted
Also, my supplemental essay was printed in a magazine's article, and I gave a copy of the magazine to my interviewer. I didn't let Harvard know my essay was published though...
