AOL Instant Messenger Help

If there are any AIM users out there, I could use some help. I haven't used AIM for awhile, but I recently downloaded AIM 6.0 and am having some problems when I go "away." First of all, when I minimize the away message box and then get a message from someone while I'm away, I don't know how to view that message. It'll say at the top "IMs Received: 1." How do I view that message? I know it says to click on the AIM icon in the System Tray to bring the IM boxes back, but that doesn't work, it just brings up my buddy list. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to be able to view messages I have received while away? I'm sure it's a simple thing, but for some reason I just can't figure out how to do it, and AIM's website really is no help. Also, sometimes my away message box just disappears sometimes, and I don't know how to get it back, and then it will just randomly come back. Can anyone tell me why this is? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about the version you have, but if on the away message box it has a small white box where it says the screen name that im'ed you and the time try double clicking on it? If that doesn't work I have no idea, try the aim.com website.

student12, the problem is that the away message box dissapears, and I don't know how to get it back. It still says at the top of my buddy list window that I'm away, and it has my message up there with "Away Since" and "IMs Received," but I don't know how to get the separate box. The aim.com website is absolutely no help.

Anyone else? Or can you tell me somewhere else to go to get help?

Anyone? I'm thinking of just going back to the old AIM.

Parent here. CLick on Edit, then Settings, then Notification. Click on "Display notifications in lower right hand corner when", then click on "New IMs arrive". That way, when you are away, you can still see the IM's as they come in. You can just X the box if you want to ignore the IM that came in while you are away. Did that help?

My friend just showed me how to do it. The "Away Status" box at the top corner of the instant message box brings your away message back, I just didn't notice it. I knew it was something simple like that. Thanks for the help anyway everyone.
