AP Art History Books

Hello guys! I want to know the best books for the AP Art History course and the AP Art History exam! I want the link of the newest editions of the books because I can not find the newest editions of the REA, Barrons, or Princeton Review books. Thanks!

I got a 5, so I have some authority in this topic. First of all, review books…you don’t really need them. If you have a good textbook (Gardner or Stokstad), read it sedulously and assiduously. First and foremost, flashcards for the top images are incredibly important. There are some sites online…just look up Free AP Art History Flashcards or something along those lines. After you have this baseline, then the review books come in. Amazon.com has the review books. I prefer The Annotated Mona Lisa, but I have heard good reviews for Barrons and REA. Go to Amazon and buy the First book…it is a must!!! Then you can amazon the others. Need any more help, just pm me!

I got a 5 on the exam after taking the class as an independent study over the Internet. I used Gardner’s as my primary textbook, but what really helped me was building my art history library. Read everything you can get your hands on. I especially liked 2,000 Years of Western Painting, The Annotated Mona Lisa, and the Barron’s review book. Also, do not underestimate the value of the Met’s website. Their timeline is amazing!
