AP Bio Online (confused) please help

Hi guys,

I am a sophomore in high school and I am a bit confused in what I should do for my AP courses. I took biology freshman year and chem sophomore year. I was considering taking a CTY AP Bio course online this summer to get prepared for the SAT II subject test. I was good at biology but I am a bit worried about taking an online course (especially since it is AP). Has anyone done this or heard how hard/easy it was? How fast does it go? Does it prepare you enough for the AP exam? Does it prepare you enough for the SAT II subject test? How much time do I have to put into it per day? Is it better just to take a prep class for the subject test? How is it in comparison to an AP Bio class in school?

Thanks in advance:)

PS: sorry for the million questions but I am just so confused

Hi, Anshcolleges,
CTY online courses are well taught. I think if I am not mistaken, AP Biology here is session based and they have deadlines to register. Please check the website for the deadlines, syllabus and for how many hours per week you have to put into(I am not sure if they tell the hours you have to put in before or after registration)so that you can get an idea of how you can handle the course before hand. If you are going to take in the summer, I am sure you will be able to complete easily by putting more hours and working hard. Please do not take a prep class for this subject test as it is not helpful and waste of money. Your are better off taking AP Biology which will prepare you thoroughly for the SAT Biology test. By the way did you qualify to take the CTY courses ? Most of the students who take this courses get qualified by taking SAT or ACT while at 7th grade. I hope this helps.
