they will make you feel better

the frq was tons harder than the MC although i skip like 8-10 MC questions. frq was straightforward, frq 2 was kind of hard for me, frq 3, I actually understand , and frq 4A. is horrible. :[

Loved all of it! All the FRQ (internships...)

I answered all of the MC questions. If I get around 90% of teh MC right, and get absolutely 0 points on the FR, will I still get a 5?

I answered all the MC and i got all the free responses. I think i'm set (except i kinda had to BS # 2).

No, you will get a painfully high four. Maybe if the curve is good this year thanks to the forever infamous FRQ 4 part A.

Ok well I probably got some points on the FRQ. I shuold get some points on #1 and maybe #3. I BS'ed alot. anyone know if that gets you any points?

I guessed on question 4A based on the information given, and it looks that I may have done it right. If you want to know what they look like, do an image search of what they were looking for on Google. Some will pop up.

frq #4a will not be that much of the final score for 4, in fact i have a feeling that 4 might have possible points up to 11 or 12 meaning A might not even be that important. soo what it was one question. multiple choice i left 10 blank and i think i probably got about another 15 wrong.

multiple choice=71.25 (.9)=64.125

free response i think i got 9 points on number 1, 3 points on number 2, 8 points on number 3, and about 7 points on number 4.

free response= 27(1.5)=40.5

multiple choice + free response= 104.625, enough for a 5.

2 people were caught cheating....why would anyone ever want to cheat on a national exam?

I was surprised at how easy it was. I answered all of the multiple choice and free response, and I'm confident about all of it but number 4. I remember going over it in class, but I had a terrible teacher and never studied it later. Oh well, I BSed my way through and I think I got some points (I possibly got 4A right...?).

I thought MC was tricky in some parts...but the matching bits were sweet. Free response was a relief for our class...especially because the subject of essay four was an activity that we had spent about two weeks on!!! We even cut out little paper models and used about a billion rolls of tape.

I calculated the scale for the old exam (120 Qs) for a "safe" five, meaning 108 points, approximately. (cutoff, according to CliffsAP, is 90 for a five). Then I changed it to the new scale (100 MC Qs) to see what the approximate scale would be for a "safe five." You can call it bogus...or you can blame cliffs:

84/100 correct on MC
16/100 incorrect on MC
6s or higher on each essay

That would be approx 100-110, so enough to be in five range. call me out if i'm wrong, tho.

Ugh, I don't understand why they'd be so stupid.

That's probably the end of some peoples' dream college careers right there.

If I had to guess...

I'd say maybe 85 on the MC, adjusted for wrong answers and such.

I'd give myself maybe 8 or 9 on the FR 1, 5 or 6 on the second, 8 on the third, and maybe 5 on the last. The FR scores might be a bit on the generous side, but I'm choosing to be optimistic.

How are AP Bio essays scored...on a 9 scale? We never did any actual AP essays in class, and our teacher taught us nothing about the exam.

I think AP Bio essays are scored on a 10 scale.

They are scored out of ten (at least, according to my old review book). A perfect is "highly accomplished," an eight is "well accomplished," and a 6 is "accomplished." I think the median for most questions is 3-5 range, though in some years, the median for certain qs has dipped to the 2-3 range (i.e. 2002).

i thought the test wasn't that bad at all. i answered all the mc but there were a couple i was sketchy about. The frs were pretty easy. 2 and 4 were the hardest but i think i got both of them. i had never seen 4 in my life but i just labeled where the cuts were made respectively. hopefully i get a 5

I'm confused, can someone tell me how this thing is scored, because some people said mc x .75 and some people said mc x .9. Which is it? And what's the cutoff for a 5? Like what was it last year?

MC is x .75.

The low end of a 5 is somewhere around 85-90.

The entire exam was so easy. AP Psychology really helped for FRQ #2.

All the multiple choice were incredibly easy except 98 - 100 since I forgot everything about that lab.
