AP Bio Recap

Actually Multiple choice is multiplied by 0.9 instead of 0.75. THey used to do 0.75 for the 120 MC questions to get a raw score of 90. But now, there are only 100 MC questions and the multiplying factor is 0.9 to maintain that MC is worth 60% of test grade, ie. 90 out of 150 points.

Oops, sorry. Thanks for correcting that.

If you get all the MC right but no points on the FRQ, you'll probably get a 5 (barely)

You can't be serious about the cross-outs. They wouldn't seriously consider your haphazard thinking process as a hamper to how well you know the information provided your essay content is good. I can understand one or two points off for general disorganization of ideas, but a point for every cross-out?... is this supposed to be a joke?

i FEEL i SHould correct this confusion that has been going on for a while .
MC is multiplied by 0.9 on this test.
PR and Cliffs may have o.75 but that is only because they use 120 MC format.
Grading: MC* .9= score/ 90
FRQ*1.5= score/60 (each essay is 10 pts)
TOtal= score/ 150
as for the curve lets hope its low!

lol for FRQ2 my friend wrote: **** is because God make it so. It was to make humans smart, so that they can take AP tests. like this one!

obviously we had no idea what FRQ2 was talking about.

Come on you guys the test was easy if you studied... especially the MC, I thought that most of the questions were easier than my Bio SAT in January (or maybe I just learned more now). I liked FRQ 4 hehe...

I thought the test was incredibly hard. I'm glad others feel that way as well. I never took an AP Bio class, and had to self study, so I was only aware of general concepts. I was very brief in the FRQ. with less than 2 pages for each one and a lot of left over time... ooooppps.

The MC was... interesting. They didn't cover a lot of the key concepts that I had prepared for. I hope I can still pull a 5!

Oh, by the way, I made 4a into a stick figure with his arms in the air, and wrote "no idea" in a speech bubble hahahaha.

We've said it several times in several threads but in case you aren't clear....

There will be NO discussion of MC questions at all, and NO discussing of FR questions until at least 48 hours after the exam. You read the rules, and we expect you to follow them.

Anyone discussing questions will have their posting privileges suspended.

Moderator Amistad

The test is designed so some of you will think it's hard, some of you will think it's easy, and some of you will think it's just right.

Sort of "AP Biology meets the three Bears"

PR and Cliffs may have o.75 but that is only because they use 120 MC format

The PR part is incorrect (they are just wrong. They say the max is 135. They still are doing it by 100 questions but by .75). But you are right. IT IS 150 fortunately.

hey does anybody know hhow they grade those FRs?
Like what do you need for a 7-8?

Go to google. Type AP Biology. And click the first one. Click it again in subject. Go to free questions. And you can see collegeboard's method to grading EVERY FRQ test since the last 4 years (8 total). Thats the most accurate. I would say for a 7-8 you need to answer most of it..

.. and for a 5 you need to answer half of it, and for a 10 you need to answer all of it. If you only answer a little bit, you will earn a 1-3, and if you answer none of it, you get a 0.

number 4 on the FR was actually ridiculous and #2 or watever it was, was not even in the curriculum! DUMB TEST!

I quoted The Lion King for FRQ 3b. It was a pretty good way to close out my essay.

Hopefully I get some humor/pity points for that one!

nah no pity points awarded.. but i screwed up essay 3 lol >_< and no idea wat to do for 2a... and theres no real way of knowing wat score u get cuz they take the top 18% of all grades and thats a 5.. if 25% got over a 90 well then u gotta do better than that to get a 5.. but the odds of that are unlikely

anyone reading this from Hauppauge? thatd be pretty sweet, and if u r u prob followed AE's link haha.. the very last multiple choice questions seemed like it had 2 legitamet answers which was pretty lame

oh by the way.. lyndsey, tehy implyed wat the word emant in number 2 (hopefully im within talkin limits) and yea other than college credit for select colleges this test dont count for anything so it dnt matter too much wat u get
