AP Bio Self-Study or Class?

I have two main questions...

Would it be preferable to take AP Physics or AP Environmental Science if I am planning on being a biology major?

My other question requires some explanation. AP Physics and AP Biology at my school takes up two periods. AP Chemistry and AP Environmental Science both take up one. However, all of these courses are only open to juniors and seniors. This means (assuming a student takes 3) that usually you have to double up on a science course junior or senior. I was wondering if I could self study AP Biology this year concurrent with a regular level biology class. Would doing this be frowned upon since the course is offered at my school, and especially if I am planning on majoring in biology?

Honestly it wouldn’t. If you plan on taking the exam, you don’t necessarily need to take an AP class to pass the test. Self studying can still be helpful. And on the contrary, it would look better because it shows how you thrive to succeed academically. (Well I think.)

Take one AP science junior year, and one AP science senior year and then take those two exams. That will be fine for admissions consideration to any university including HYPS. If you are planning on majoring in biology, your second science can be whatever you will enjoy more as a discipline.
