AP Bio

Hi! I’m currently a senior and taking AP Bio and my teacher is ok but isn’t the greatest. It’s his first year teaching the class and I’m doing ok but I feel like I need to do some outside work to help me in the class. The class took the biochemistry test last week and 68% almost failed(including me)What should I do??

Btw, I know about review books and such but I can’t get my hands on one for a few weeks so what should I do for now? I have been reading the textbook chapters like he says we should do. I want to take my own notes based on the chapters but I’m not sure what’s important for the AP Exam and what’s not. Any advice???

Check to see if your textbook has online resources attached to it. If it’s Glencoe, there should be an online link that has many quizzes to help you review well. Read the textbook, but also quiz yourself to make sure you understand. There should be an AP exam distribution you can look up to see what the test largely consists of. This past exam, I think a lot of the test was about cellular respiration/photosynthesis, biochem, hormones, genetics (ESPECIALLY RNA and DNA), and maybe there was some ecology as well? Watch explanatory videos such as CrashCourse or Bozeman Science. Khan Academy also has some decent videos. You just need to be ready for copious memorization and to build a serious understanding of the way certain processes work, so these videos will come in handy. Good luck! (And when you get the review books, make sure it’s Princeton Review or Barron’s)
