I had several issues going on at and outside of home. I got a 67 on my first term of AP bio. My overall avg Is still a 91 with several other honors and aps. Can I still.major in bio? My end goal is to get into med school
Short of committing a felony, nothing you do in high school has any effect on your ability yo gain an acceptance into med school.
You can major in anything you want once you get college.
Wouldn’t grades in college courses taken while in high school also have an effect?
Your HS grade has little to do with med school application, however, you should self evaluate your apptitude and ability in your science academics. Med school is all about science, if you are not good in science you won’t be a successful physician. Lots of kids I know had a 5 in ap bios did not get into med school.
@ucbalumnus Yes, any college coursework taken during high school will be included by AMCAS & AACOMAS when computing GPA, but courses taken in high school are reported on a separate page from college grades and marked as being taken during high school.
Poor dual enrollment grades won’t red flag a student; a felony conviction will.
