Haha Amherst doesn’t accept AP credit? Ridiculous. Stupid liberal arts school.

The MC is not difficult at all, compared to the tests that go with the Campbell’s book as well as the tests in review books.

What I did, and what I strongly recommend to anybody who can, is take as many of the released exams as possible. If your teacher doesn’t have any of them to let you borrow, you can buy them online, or somebody might have some they will send to you. Taking the released MC makes SUCH a difference in terms of preparing you for knowing exactly what to expect.

I took 3 or 4 released exams and I scored consistently on all of them… so when I took the actual thing, it felt like I was just taking another released exam and I flew right through it… and made a 5. ;)

I got a 5 this past year and would advise to read the cliffs study guide. It is amazing and really does prepare you for the test. If you have a decent teacher and just read the study guide cover to cover the week before the test you should be fine.

I think I’m going to self study for this test, what textbook would you guys recommend?

@Ingenium, I don’t have a good teacher. I live in the Texas countryside (redneckville). When should I start studying if I have to learn 95% of the content on my own?

@all4game we have 6th edition Biology/Cambell and get the guide (Cliff’s) as well.

Hm… okay, thanks… now where can I buy one of those? xD

Amazon.com
It’s about $10 in total. The reason why is the ninth edition is already out. But you don’t need the ninth edition.
Go to Amazon.com-search Campbell Biology 6th edition.

Is “Life- the science of biology” a good book?

[Amazon.com: Biology, 6th Edition: Neil A. Campbell and Jane B. Reese: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Biology-Neil-Campbell-Jane-Reese/dp/B00130N37I/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top)
is that it?

That’s it bro^

Off of cyberspace for the night goodnight all ccers

lol due to such an early thread start i’m gonna make a wild guess now that dylandlima get’s a 5 on the exam.

@all4game Technically its the seventh edition [Amazon.com: Biology, 7th Edition (Book & CD-ROM) (9780805371468): Neil A. Campbell, Jane B.…](http://www.amazon.com/Biology-Book-CD-ROM-Neil-Campbell/dp/080537146X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1278213884&sr=8-2) but who cares?

And for everyone else you can probably start studying in april and be fine.

I’m self-studying this O: (because according to my brother the exam is really easy)! I think I should start now.

@dylandlima: If you already have a strong grasp on science (a sciency person), I would suggest to start about 2 weeks early. AP Biology is a lot of memorization so read it cover to cover twice and if you don’t feel comfortable three times. I am more of a sciency person so results of this may vary depending on your strengths. Hope this helps.

Alright well, I hope I do get a 5. And thanks Ingenium for the information. 082349, I will be technically in the class but probably self studying 95% of it. My teacher doesn’t know anything about Biology. She was a humanities major.

So let’s get everybody that’s taking Biology AP in 2011 to post that they are so we have a better sense of the audience of this thread.

I’m taking AP Bio this year…

:O Why does she even teach biology!
