**AP Biology 2011 CRAM Thread**

Plans for last minute cramming??

I feel pretty well versed in the majority of topics, so tonight I’m going to study for about an hour and a half more. After Mother’s Day Brunch tomorrow, I’m studying from 1 p.m.-midnight, reading through at least 4 or 5 chapters in my barrons, studying tests, a practice test, etc! :D

reading through my 5 steps to a 5 book… i had a good teacher though and some topics i know pretty well. i took the practice test on sparknotes and they said id get a 5. cant complain!!! im just freaked about the free responses- like if i dont know one… i really want a 5

anyone know for the Cliff’s ap biology book if the taxonomy section is TOO specific? It goes into like phylum and sometimes even class on every kingdom.

Yeah, I found that the Cliff’s is particularly dense for a review/prep book. But again, it’s biology so there should be a lot of material.

I have church all morning and then the school play which should all wrap up around 3:30 or 4:00. I plan to study until 10 and then sleep until 3am when I will wake-up and study until the test.

What’s your opinion of the 2002 AP Bio exam? I got a 90% on it, and I’m pretty happy about it.

90% is pretty high, so no matter the level of the test (all released official tests are about the same), you should be fine

Night before the test rituals?

are we allowed to use calculators/graphing calculators on this exam?
i forget

drose1: no

Unfortunately, not. They don’t even allow them on the chem multiple choice, which I think is stupid.

komets41: i would personally get more sleep, falling asleep during an ap exam will rape your score

Plans for night before test?

Yay! Just took the 1994 test, got a 72/100! I would just need decent essays, and I can get a 5! WOOHOO!

Possible Essays (IMPORTANT):
1.cell structure, plasma membrane especially
2. respiration
3. photosynthesis
4. cell division, mitosis-meiosis
5. DNA replication
6. protein synthesis
7. natural selection
8. speciation
9. reproduction angiosperms
10. plant tropism/hormones
11. nerves
12. muscle contraction
13. menstrual cycle
14. succession
15. biogeochemical cycle

Genetic Drift-Bottleneck Effect-Random Chance

Gene Flow-Migration

Punctuated Equilibrium-Random periodic bursts of increase and decrease in population size

How do you guys remember everything to do with plants? I find myself forgetting the names of the structures, plus primary vs. secondary growth is pretty confusing for me to understand intuitively. >_>

Alternation of generations is also pretty confusing. The sporophyte produces gametes, and so does the gametophyte…

ronaldo, i would suggest for you to go over plants tonight. they make up a huge section of MC and appear on fr often.

OK, so reading through Cliffs, there is a LOT of stuff in the “biological diversity” part. Do I have to memorize ALL of that stuff on fungi and things?
