AP Biology 2011 Official Thread

sounds like you guys did great…my son got a 5, he’s a rising sophomore, so I was pretty impressed he even wanted to take AP Bio as a freshman.

5, although I had expected a 4. I didn’t write anything for 4c and I totally messed up on the Digestive system FRQ. I also self-studied (should have started earlier, too), and was so happy to receive the scores.

got a 2… ouch

Got a 5 !!!

Super happy since I never even took AP Biology and literally opened Cliffnotes the weekend before the exam…

Took AP Bio this year (with a great teacher!)…granted, we rushed over respiratory/circulatory/digestive systems and covered zero physiology/hmn anatomy, so those brain/hormone questions were awesome…and like a lot of you I didn’t remember iCRT. I wrote something down for each variable and I think 1 was right but bleh. I mean I did my share of studying, but WHO is going to remember 1 equation from 1 question on the first lab that really wasn’t brought up the rest of the year?

i’m in shock. i didn’t do any practice questions and blew off studying until the night before

got a 5! so pumped. Cliffs is a great study tool btw for anyone who is taking ap bio next year

5… which really goes to show you that this is a hard AP Class/Exam, but with hard work, self review you really can do extremely well. I’ve heard of kids getting a solid C in the class who got a review book, stayed home for a weekend and got the 5. For anyone considering AP Bio versus another AP science, I say go with Bio. It’s a lot of memorization, but with some hard work you don’t even really need to cover every single topic, considering there’s only so much they can test you on. Seriously…TAKE IT! it looks great on your transcript and getting a review book (I would say CLIFFS or Princeton)…you can get a 5!

5! Really happy considering the fact that I only started studying for the exam 3 days before the exam day. Love the CliffsAP AP Biology (3rd Edition) book :P

5 and used some review that was by the textbook publisher

5! studied my ass off, for once in my life. nice to see results.

Congrats on all of ur results.

Just wondering, did any of you guys use 5 steps to a 5 AP Bio? If yes, how did you guys find it? Was it useful and did it actually help to get you a 5 ?

I used 5 steps, and it was indeed helpful, especially the lab section. The diagrams are pretty crappy though, like stick drawings, and there are only 2 practice tests. But in content alone, this book basically covers it all with enough detail.
I would recommend getting the study guide published by the Campbell publisher because it corresponds directly with the book, and I used it to study for tests and the ap test and got a 5

Cliffs sucked for labs, so I watched Bozeman Biology videos on Youtube (he has step by step guides for each of the 12 required labs, plus more videos on AP Bio concepts!). Got a five :)

Hi! I’m new to this website but I’m taking AP Biology as a junior in high school and I’m really struggling with Ward’s Lab 5: Cellular Respiration. I would really appreciate your help! Thank you! :)

How far in depth do we have to know cellular respiration for the AP exam?

My class uses the AP edition of Campbell 7/e
