Ap bio

AHHHH. I'm 100% freaking out right now. I have no confidence going into the test for next Monday. I pretty much know NOTHING.
My teacher suuucks. Its her first year teaching it so she's been trying to learn as she teaches us. (D:)

After reading through some of my Cliffs AP Bio I have full confidence that I'm going to fail.
I think I'll do decent on the MC (oh, did I mention that we are nowhere even NEAR where we are supposed to be for the test? I've taught myself everything, and still know nothing.)
But the free response I feel is going to kill me.

; O; Any help?
Does anyone know any last minute GOOD cram sites/books?

the best book is definitely Barron’s, it is harder than the real test, but it leaves you feeling prepared

Actually, my teacher said Barron’s has too much information in it and that cliff’s prepares you perfectly for the exam. With the added info in barron’s and the amount of content within this course, it’s really hard to learn the content of barron’s in its entirety.

To learn the lab section we used
[PHSchool - The Biology Place](<a href=“Prentice Hall Retirement – PHSchool – PHSchool.com – Savvas”>Prentice Hall Retirement – PHSchool – PHSchool.com – Savvas)

You may want to purchase the barron’s flashcards. They’re not as detailed as the book and are great study tools.

I prefer Cliff’s, but that’s what I’ve been using to review for the past month or so…the labs might bite me in the butt since we haven’t gotten to all 12. Meh. Do your best, but the test is rather condensed so if you’re feeling screwed now it might be doomsday if you don’t do something soon.

the best idea is to take as many practice tests as possible

The cliffs book itself has practice tests in the back.
Additionally, you could visit [SparkNotes: AP Biology: Test Center](http://testprep.sparknotes.com/testcenter/ap/biology/)
to take another practice test

I got a 4 on the Sparknotes one, should i expect to get a 4 on the real thing?

Also, does anyone have any cram packets for Bio?

Same I got a 4 and I’m aiming for a 5. So things aren’t looking good. Although I am not motivated as it is senior year.

Also aiming for a 5 but I’d be happy with a 4 because I got taught absolutely nothing this year. A 4 is decent for 5 weeks of self-studying… I’m kinda worried about the FRQs though.

A study packet (cram packet) would be very nice

oooh god, i’m SO nervous, i’ve been spending SO much time studying 4 calc and barely any 4 bio :(

The AP Bio exam really isn’t that hard. If you’ve been lucky enough to take a released exam (we took the 2008 released exam in class), you will realize that it truly isn’t very difficult, provided you’ve at least exposed yourself to the majority of the material.

With the FRQs, you can always come up with at least SOMETHING to write. Never leave an FRQ blank. My teacher gave us an example: If an FRQ is to describe the role and function of four specific enzymes, that you’ve never heard of in your LIFE, your instinct is to write nothing. But if you write about enzymes in general, what their universal role is, how they work, how they are regulated, etc. you very well may earn 2 or 3 points on that question. IMO, that’s a heck of a lot better than zero!

Yeah, bio is going to murder me. I just went (yesterday…hah) and picked up the REA AP Biology Crash Course book, which looks very nice and is in a no-fluff outline format. Unfortunately, just because I have the information doesn’t mean I’ll remember it…looking forward to taking my 1 with pride.

WOW! Thanks for that lab link!

I just got the AP Biology Crash Course book and that seems to be helping, but I’m still scared. ; O;
My weekend is going to be me hopelessly studying praying that I at least get a 2.
I’m going to study the 12 labs a lot so I can do well on that free response question.

^do not use crash course. use cliffs. only cliffs.

second. do not bother studying the labs. the FRQ lab questions can all be done with the information given to you. there is no need for outside information or experience. just do what it tells you to do.

third. FRQs are easiest part of the test.

fourth. read cliffs over and over again. skip all taxonomy chapters and the lab section.

fifth. do the 5 cliffs ap practice tests. do the 2 in the back of cliffs ap biology.

you’re set.

What do you recommend most to read from the Cliffs AP?

cram packet- [Julie’s Study Guides: AP Biology Exam](Julie's Study Guides: AP Biology Exam)

They asked very specific FRQ about taxonomies in 2002…Hope they’ll not do it again…And it seems impossible for me ever to remember those lab part stuff lol…Agreed here, Cliff is real great after all~

^ That’s my biggest fear. Taxonomy = the end of me.
