AP Biology entrance problem? Advice? Please read!

Hi, sorry it's long, but I really need some advice! Please read!

I'm currently a sophomore going through a course selection process for my junior year. When I entered high school, I took chemistry, as AP Bio at that time did not require biology. By the end of my freshman year, they changed the requirements and now require biology. I couldn't take biology during the summer due to conflicts, and so I pushed away the problem and went with AP Physics for my sophomore year.

Now, I'm going to take biology over the summer, and attempt to get in to AP Biology. I thought it would be painless, but some problems arose. All of the students who meet the pre-requisites get entry first, and I have to be put in a different science at the beginning of the next school year, because I won't have the biology pre-requisite fulfilled until the end of summer. Then, at the beginning of the school year, I can request a schedule change, but the counselors say that space is limited and it's unlikely that I will be able to get in.

What do you suggest I do? I really want to take AP Biology, and not a third year of a physical science.

bump please

Why can’t you just fulfill the prerequisite over the summer and then take AP Biology your Senior Year if its that important to you? That way, you’ll get first priority at the end of your Junior Year.

i meant like it’s important to me that I take it Junior Year. do counselors usually exaggerate? they told me it was highly unlikely that i would be able to do ap physics as a sophomore but it worked out, so i’m hoping this will work out too. I just don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t do AP biology next year. my only choice would be ap chemistry (there are no other good choices), but i want to have a life science now

I just want to secure a place in the class before summer, and not try to get in at the beginning of the year
