Currently I am self studying for the ap bio exam and while looking for a textbook to study with it turns out that my library didn't have any of the newer editions, and so not so sure about using an older edition. The one that i currently have is a 4th edition Campbell. will someone enlighten me if ill be okay using this particular textbook, or should instead try an purchase a used copy.

Probably fine – Campbell is a great textbook. I’m not sure that much changed recently that affected the exam. Just be sure that you are aware of the altered material found on the 2012-2013 exam that changed from this past year’s exam.

Wrong forum… Try posting this in the “Sciences” sub-forum under “AP Test Prep” and you will get more answers! :)

Yeah - wrong forum. But I recommend searching for online textbooks. Last time I checked, the website named “hippocampus” linked to some good resources, plus it was well organized.

In addition to what I said earlier, you can definitely self-study a 5 if you know Cliffs inside and out. It’s much more detailed than the exam.
