AP Biology Texts

Salutations CC,

I'm about to head to my junior, and knowing my school doesn't offer AP Bio, I plan to do a self-study over the next year. However, I'm stuck purchasing between 2 textbooks available:

1) Campbell Biology: Concepts & Connections (7th Edition)

2) Campbell Biology (9th Edition)

I'm open for suggestions and advice, thanks~

Just get the Campbells book, 7th edition, and AP edition. Go to half.com and you will find it for a great price. I took the class this year and we used that book, it was amazing. Good luck!

If I were you, I’d stick with the conventional Campbell book. The 7th edition works fine - it’s what my class uses too.

our school gives out the 4th edition. is that outdated?

Self Studying AP biology is hard. Good luck.

Just get this one - it’s the standard 7th edition. You really don’t NEED the 9th edition, but… your call.

Oh… and Cliffs.

Thanks for the replies! I guess I will go for the Campbell 7th ed.

Relating to CantConcentrate’s suggestion, is Cliffs better than Barron’s for a study guide?

Well, personally, I’ve never used Barron’s, but the general consensus is - and I wholeheartedly agree - that Cliffs is one of the, if not the, best AP Bio review book.
