should be studying for micro, but instead i’m trying to find the lowest score i could get and still get a 5…
@BOBROSS so wouldn’t the answer be the length of the mRNA strand? wasn’t that 7 kb?
i think im wrong but im just confused cuz prokaryotes dont have introns
hi everyone, new here!
what alleles did y’all put into each of the 4 circles, the ones supposed to be the daughter cells from meiosis? that was one question that tripped me up a lot.
@peachypo101 I got 15kb because you inserted a 15kb dna strand and no introns were removed so you will have a 15kb mRNA.
@peachypo101 dont beat yourself up over this stuff. Im literally dying with some of the dumb mistakes i did.
@egirl00 wasn’t it just Bg, BG, bG, bg? maybe i put something else i forger
@egirl00 i put GgBb (something like that) for all four, but im not sure cause i did this like 30 seconds before i ran out of time… oops
@BOBROSS ohhhh alright got it now. thanks!
Ok I get that everybody’s salty about the content distribution of the test (for good reason), but I think that complaining about the format of the test isn’t exactly justified. It’s not like the test was new this year—there’s three years of released FRQs and 43 released sample MC questions (and your teachers should have had practice MC available from CB).
CB has been moving in the conceptual trend for a bit now, and I can’t say this change disappoints me. What’s more valuable in real life—memorizing Campbell’s from cover to cover or developing critical thinking and application skills?
@peachypo101 for that question i got what you got except i wrote it out like 1/4 purple dwarf , 1/4 etc etc. I think both ways of writing it are correct. I hope…
@BOBROSS oh yeah i did that too. i think we’re both correct. except i think i got 1/2 idk i forget
yea i wrote 4:4:4:4 ratio, think i got the 2nd part wrong though about the second cross
I had literally 0 clue what they were even asking in the second cross. I think i wrote like dank memes or something.
i got 9:3:3:1 for the second one
thats what i guessed.
i got 1:1:1:1 for the second cross (part b of the question I think?) but is that what you all got for the question where we had to draw chromosomes in the circles (daughter cells) and label the alleles? i put GD, GD, gd, gd, but I did it with literally no time.
I honestly wasnt sure what to draw in the diagrams.
That was the one I didn’t attempt, thank god it was a short FRQ. That one reaaalllly tripped me up. I have a general understanding of meiosis, but not so much that I could draw it and explain what’s going on. Plus, I was pretty short on time. I had to rush on the calcitonin one and that one was even worse, but I just wrote something random like calcitonin increases with exercise, decreases after the 1 hour time period or something like that. This was my first AP exam and I wasn’t really sure how it’ll turn out. The 5s percentages make my heart drop haha. I manage an A in the actual class but our quizzes and tests were somewhat harder than the test, so hoping that the ones I had eliminated are actually right.
@peachypo101 I also got 9:3:3:1. not sure if it’s right though haha i REALLY hope it is.
@latiere I wouldn’t worry much, especially since it’s your first exam. You’ll have plenty of time to do better in the future.
yeah that inheritance question definitely was the hardest frq. never really understood the linked vs independent assortment thing well enough and never tried enough on those. but for the exercise one, it was clearly an increase that supported the claim correct? i talked about how the levels post exercise including the standard error of mean, were still higher than the mean before exercising.
