And @themindinator I had form o if that helps
I honestly can’t even remember what I picked for that question.
@luckydoggy1234 wasn’t it along the lines of cancer/tumor
@j2000bly The exact words they used was “to control rapid cell division” so along the lines of that. Like a lot of others, I kind of doubted myself on that one but it makes sense when you think about it. I was confused b/c I thought for rapid cell division (cancers and etc.) it was density-dependent inhibition or something? But I don’t think they wanted to refer to cancer specifically, just rapid cell growth… Ah, it’s hard to explain! Haha.
@j2000bly don’t remember lol. All I’m saying is that if what @latiere posted are the answer choices for what I think is a mitosis meiosis question then he’s right. If the question is as u say it is about cancer theb I would have to reevaluate the choices
I’m pretty sure the ratio was 1:1:1:1. It could only be 9:3:3:1 if it was a GgDd x GgDd cross. But it was actually a GgDd x ggdd (something like that?) cross. (You had to take an F1 progeny is what I remember and the first cross was like GGDD x ggdd.)
@Chrysanthemum14 wrong. You needed two ratios… They first asked what are the possible genotypes/phenotype stat wid happen if you crossed GGDD with ggdd. Then they asked for f2 progeny ratio
Therefore the answer is 1:1:1:1 then 9:3:3:1
The ratio of a test cross is always 1:1:1:1
Two ratios?? I must have skipped a section then because I remember the questions as:
a.) fill in the circles (given the info that GGDD x ggdd for the F1 cross)
b.) find the ratio and possible phenotype if you crossed an F1 progeny with ggdd
c) if the genes are genetically linked…
@schwinn12 Yeah it asked for the test cross between an F1 progeny and the parent ggdd. Finding the F2 progeny ratio would be doing 3 crosses in total for the problem and I don’t think that’s right.
“a.) fill in the circles (given the info that GGDD x ggdd for the F1 cross)
b.) find the ratio and possible phenotype if you crossed an F1 progeny with ggdd
c) if the genes are genetically linked…”
That’s exactly what I had and I know I didn’t misread the problem. You’re good.
“Then they asked for f2 progeny ratio”
The F2 progeny ratio is the GgDd x ggdd cross (GgDd is F1 progeny).
do u guys think curve will be better this year?
How did your graphs look for the first FRQ about salinity/the mussels?
what did you put into the circles? I’m still confused about that one.
I drew two chromosomes in each circle, one for flower color and one for plant height, and I drew a little circle (not sure if this is right??) to distinguish which chromosome carries which allele
Lets all be happy potatoes and make french fires and eat them.
Anyone going to take the SAT subject test for Bio?
Fouzia took mine on Saturday… WAY easier than ap and actually related to BIOLOGY CONTENT
