No but that’s the control group, and exercise could have a major affect on it that causes it to increase as well
, but the question only asks for CHANGE not increase or decrease
What would a change be then.
I’m saying that it could be an increase or a decrease not just one
Cuz it doesn’t specify which one
Oh so either increase or decrease could possibly be correct? Or possibly it doesnt change at all?
@BOBROSS I think either is correct as long as u use the se bars to back it up. But I’m pretty sure it does change
What nutrient did you guys pick as preferred and how did you justify it as advantageous?
For the second problem, the question of the advantage of nutrient preference of an individual bacterium, isn’t the answer that there will be less competition between bacterium because less bacterias will be competing for the different nutrients?
Furthermore, the metabolism regulation for nutrient 1 and 2, can it be inducible operon? Nutrient 1 or 2 can act as an inducer for the operon that creates enzymes to metabolize nutrient 1 or 2. For the question: “the two reasons the population does not grow between 5-6 hours” I said the population doesn’t grow between 5-6 hours because the bacteria is switching between metabolism operon for nutrient 1 to operon for nutrient 2. My second reason was complete bs though. Are these correct?
@gkdudtlffj Is the regulation repressor or inducer? I thought it was repressor…
@gkdudtlffj My response included no competition too (for an individual bacterium that was able to utilize nutrient 2).
Also, I said it was a corepressor for metabolizing nutrient 2 and an inducer for metabolizing nutrient 1. For the 5-6 hours, I had something somewhat similar, but I feel like CB will accept a variety of answers. Yours sounds reasonable.
@Darthjt Do you think CB will accept my answer about inducible for metabolism on nutrient 2?
Inducible isn’t correct, it has to be repressible to make sense @ above
@gkdudtlffj u will probably get 1/2 points
Yeah the presence of nutrient 1 increases metabolism of nutrient 1 therefore nutrient 1 must inactivate the repressor so the genes necessary for metabolism can be expressed.
what did you guys put for why the eDNA test was a false positive?
Wait is the longer strand better because it is more representative of the population?
I was confused by why the longer strand was advantageous; I just said that it’d be easier to perform the polymerase chain reaction with a longer strand.
As for the false positive, I just said some eDNA could have been shed into the lake (since the lake and river were connected) without the silver carp actually entering the lake.
@Darthjt but is the longer one more representative because it is in the area for a shorter time, and won’t float away?
i said the longer strand lasts for less time so it had a less likely chance of becoming mutated so it would be a more accurate reading
idk i kind of bsed it
@gradeobsessed I pretty much put the same thing as u
