Thanks everyone for your help! I think I will do BC and physics 2
Try to cut a few APs. For instance, if you’ve already taken AP Language, take English Honors rather than AP Lit.
Your schedule doesn’t look ‘impressive’ (as skieurope said, colleges aren’t ‘impressed’ by classes) but rather overloaded. It’s important to have academic balance, you’re right, but it’s also important to have life balance skills (and time for ECs )
So my recommendation would be AP physics2, BC, gov/econ, French, then honors English and a ‘fun’ class or a science elective.
My school doesn’t have english 3 or english 4 honors, its either regular or AP. I know this sounds really nerdy, but I actually really like economics, but we’re only allowed to take AP macro as a senior(there aren’t any other econ classes at my current school). For ECs, I play flute and do Girl Scouts (working on my gold rn). I guess I know its not impressive per se, but looking good = being an impressive/competitive applicant academically ( and of course there are other factors than just GPA) is kind of the same, I don’t know. My schedule right now is pretty manageable; I’m in AP physics 1 (A), chem (A+), english language (A) and US History (A-), as well as pre calculus honors (A+) and french 4 honors (A+), so I don’t think 5 AP(BC, lit, physics 2, french, econ) and 0 honors would be unmanageable, idk?
You’d have the extra, writing-intensive class “writing college supplements” so I’ stay with 4 APs, but if you only take 5 classes v. 6 rigorous ones and aren’t cutting on sleep it may be worth trying.
I’d stick to the 4 Ap’s + English (guessing that if you attend a rigorous prep school regular English is pretty rigorous)
Consider this when thinking about how many APs to take senior year:
In the fall, you are in college application season. You may be taking the SAT again. You may want to visit some more colleges. You have to write college- specific essays (hopefully you already wrote your common app essay over the summer.). You have to fill out your Common App and get recommendations.
Also you may be in marching band or Sports or be a leader of a club. College Apps is like another timesucking EC on top of that.
Then in the spring, you may have senioritis. You are been accepted to college and are looking toward the finish line. You have to study for the AP tests…it will be difficult to study for too many at once.
I wouldn’t take AP Bio unless you think your major in college would require it.
