I have a conflicting schedule and must choose between AP Bio or AP Calc BC. I have passed AP Calc AB junior year and would like to know which one would look better for college admissions. I rather like math, but I also plan on getting involved with the medical field in college.
I also have a choice to drop French 4 for AP Chem. and lose the chance for my seal of biliteracy since, apparently to my counselor, passing the French SAT Subject test does not give the seal. This would mean I can take AP Calc. BC at the same time with AP Gov., AP Lit, and AP Chem. Note that I have a free 6th period due to the only class being offered at that time being Draw and Paint.
Since you passed AP Calc AB, in my personal opinion you should take AP Bio, since you are interested in the medical field.
As for dropping French 4, I would suggest keeping it. One more AP won’t sway the college admissions decision, but being bi-literate in a second language might be a compelling factor. That’s just my opinion though.
Thanks for the response (:
I agree with @yonceonhismouth. Since you passed AP Calculus AB already, I take it is a better idea to move onto AP Biology. I would never want to take AP Biology, but you seem to have a lot of interest in it and want to pursue medical sciences when going to university, it would look good to colleges, and you would most likely enjoy it.
Like @yonceonhismouth also said, yeah, you should stay in French 4. This is because in my county, to get the highest diploma when graduating, you need at least 3 years of one language or 2 years of 2 two languages. But the county tells you that you should take 4 years of one language or 3 years of 2 languages if you would like to go to a very selective college or college where the acceptance rate has less people getting in than people getting in. If you think you can handle French 4, I would advise going for it.
Good luck and have a good day!
