Hi! I’m a rising senior trying to prep for my upcoming AP Calc AB class this year. For anyone who has taken Calc AB in the past or anyone who is also taking it this year, any helpful hints for the class? Are there any helpful websites/videos/review books I can utilize to help me make it through this class? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
My teacher used some D&S marketing book at the end of the year to help us prepare and it was essentially a bunch of practice exams. I tried to use Barron’s to prepare but I never got through it and it was really no help anyways. I benefited most from having lots of experience with having lots of practice in many complex problems. You need to learn how to apply derivation and integration to many diverse types of problems because that is what gives people the most trouble on the exam. Having lots of practice with these allowed me and many classmates to get 5’s. We had (*have, I have him for BC this year) a great teacher who knows how to prepare students, and hopefully your teacher is like ours. If not, I would advise you to focus on the practice problems. Take advantage of past exams available from college board. Hope this helps
I used Schaumm’s Pre-Calculus Outlines book to brush up on my pre-calc skills (obvs pre-reqs). Other than that I find it helpful to google videos (YouTube or Khan Academy) and to find a worksheet or note outline that fits each topic that you are currently studying.
Thanks so much, @coffeeaddicted !! Good luck in BC
Thanks @southernbelle16 !!
