AP Calc BC Book - What's the difference?

Alright, my school's text sucks. I've been able to get by just by reading my Sister's Calculus Early Transcendentals book (6e by James Stewart). However, it's 1000 PAGES! I heard recently that the BC test only tests on multivariable questions. I looked online and there seems to be other books by James Stewart of the 6th edition: Multivariable and Singlevariable.

My book says neither single nor multi. I'm worried because my friends are planning to start a study group based off of the single variable book. Does my book have the same problems or what?

picking which topics to study always confuses me. i usually just get a prep book and read the corresponding stuff in a real textbook

The AP Calculus BC exam doesn't test you on multivariate calculus. That's commonly taught in Calculus III courses. BC calculus is like more applications of integration and series.
