AP Calculus AB & BC 2013-2014

I don’t know about the average, but the frqs don’t seem that hard. If you go on the AP Calculus page on collegeboard, I believe the exact exam questions from previous tests and their explanations are posted for you to use to practice. From what I’ve seen, they seem fairly easy and they are very repetitive from year to year. My teacher told me that if you have no idea how to solve a free response problem, guess. The graders often give credit even if you have the wrong values.
Simple example:
If you have the equation
f’(t)= 4t
And the question asked what is the velocity of the function f(t) at t=1.
If you were to, for example, plug in 2 for t instead of one, you will will get a point or two for knowing to plug in a value to f(t). However, you won’t get credit for getting the right answer because that value would be wrong.
(I hope this makes sense)

Also, even if you don’t know how to solve but you know that you should be using a certain equation, write it down! Because often times 1 point out of the 9 is just knowing to use that equation, even if you so it wrong.

Just by doing these things should give you a few points even if you are clueless

Do you think the 1988 released exam would be helpful? Or is it too outdated… There are some problems on there that I don’t even remember learning about!

I’d say stick with the 1998, 2003, and 2008. I got an 100 on all three of them so i’m feeling quite confident about the exam as a whole.

Could you post the link for the 2003 and 2008 exams? I can’t find them :frowning: @ChemCramyea

2008

@ChemCramyea Thanks for posting them! Starting to cram for the test :D/

Does anyone else think that the 2000’s exams are easier than the 1990’s exams?

My nostrils have been mucus faucets since Sunday. There goes my easy 5…

who has the answers to the 2003 exam?

I learn really well by videos – does anyone have any videos (could be very long) that I should watch? I’d watch the Khan accademy, but there are too many for me to finish today

The exam is tomorrow. You shouldn’t try to cram new material in the night before. If you don’t know it, you don’t know it. You can miss 65% of the test and pass…
And you can miss 31-32% an still make a 5!

@yayitsme123‌ I don’t have the link, but just look them up online and you’ll find them. :)

I’m nervous now for this exam but I keep acing the practice exams… yay test anxiety. :P

Stupid Question: I’ve taken APs before, but I’ve never had this problem. What if I run out of paper?

There is extra paper available if you run out, you have to write your ap number on it and include it with test is all.

I’m nervous about AB!! We changed schedules this year so the AP Calc teacher only has about half the time he used to, and he isn’t used to teaching that way so we crammed basically all of integration into one week. I want a 5 really badly so I’ve been studying. Just got a 34-38 out of 44 on a practice MC test (depending on how generous I’m being about stupid mistakes I won’t make when I’m in hardcore mode) so I think I’m in a good place

2003 BC Exam –
Can someone tell me how difficult this is in retrospect to all of the past years (that at least you have taken) – it is really the only one I have graded and done under timed conditions, so I’d like to get an idea…

Also, what are the cutoffs for a 4/5 on BC?
Say you get 50-60% of multiple choice right, what do I need on free response?

This will help <a href=“AP Calculus BC Test Score Calculator - AP Pass”>http://appass.com/calculators/calculusbc</a></p>

@APmaster007, thanks, I saw that before, didn’t know how accurate it was.

Still would like an answer to my other question though… How difficult was the 2003 BC in perspective to other years?
