<p>okk...im a junior and i plan on taking calculus in the summer...but my school is deciding on making an AP calculus class senior year.. its not final they are still deciding...because i go to a technical school, i can only take 4 academic classes senior year...we dont find out if the class is AP until senior yr which is stupid...so if i take calc in the summer should i take it again as an AP course? i dont want my GPA to drop and I guess it doesnt hurt to take extra math classes...please give me advice</p>
<p>In my opinion, it would be a waste of your time and talent to retake a course that covers substantially the same material that you just learned over the summer. </p>
<p>Perhaps, though, the course in your school would cover more material.</p>

<p>the course over the summer is college level calc worth 4 credits....and i would like to take it to get it out of the way so i can take french 3 since i want to be an IR major w/minor in math..but the school might offer an AP calc which would really help my GPA since my school doesnt offer 2 many ap courses</p>
<p>in that case, ur summer cal is AP cal because it is worth 4 college credit, AP cal BC is worth 4 credit too. Are u taking this in a college, because if not, u still have to take the AP cal test to get the credit.</p>

<p>Actually Calc BC is worth like 4 or more. I've seen 6 credits and 8 also.</p>
<p>i take that back , BC cal is actually worth 8 credit, AB is worth 4 sry.</p>
<p>im taking it at a local college....its gona be tough having a math class for 4 hours a day in the summer...will the colleges take into account that i have a lower GPA because i took it in the summer instead of the AP course in school? the classes in my school arent great because teachers spend more time yelling at the class clowns to shut up then actually teach the material which gets me annoyed</p>
