Ap Chem 2015

Is ap chem hard compared to Honors. I'm currently taking honors and had an A last semester. I'll probably get an A again this semester. I'm going to be a sophomore next year. I got signed up for Ap stats, Ap euro, Ap chem, precalc honors, English 2 honors, and Web Design 1(Needed a fine arts credit). I bought Zumdahl's 7th edition online. Is there any other way I can prepare for this class? Are there any good review books out there? Should I keep my notes from chem honors? Thank you.

Keep your notes. They may be helpful to go over basics. I enjoyed AP Chem; it was difficult, but not overly so.

I’m not sure about your honors class, but in my school, the honors class goes at a much slower pace and only covers a fraction of what is taught on the AP level, according to my school’s AP teacher (I’m taking AP Chem next year too).

How hard is the class? I’ve heard from friends that its really fun, especially the labs, but how is the class itself?

At our school, our honors covers the basics of the ap chem topics. People say that if they have my honors teacher, they’ll be good to go for ap chem. Ap chem does seem like a fun class. Is the revised exam going to be hard though?

I’m one month away from finishing AP Chem. (it is my favorite class and chemistry is my intended major) It is definitely harder than Honors Chemistry, and I think the main difference is this: In AP Chemistry, you cannot pass with just memorization and studying; you have to understand it and be able to explain the WHY’s rather than the WHAT’s. The AP Chemistry curriculum has also been changed this year to make it geared more toward understanding explanations rather than plugging numbers into equations. It is extremely interesting, but challenging at the same time. If you are just taking it because it is another AP class on your resume, you might be in a for a tough time.
