Does the Barron's AP Chem book cover everything from honors chem to Ap chem? Or do i need honors chem background knowledge in order to read the book?

same question…

since im taking AP Chem next year in school…which book fits me better, PR or Barron?

Personally, I thought the Princeton explained concepts much easier. But I recommend using a textbook as well. I used the Zumdahl for my class, since my teacher didn’t teach worth a darn, I pretty much learned from the book by myself.

bobob, I think you could get through some of it without any prior chem knowledge if you are persistent. However, a few of the later chapters and some of the information in all chapters is extraneous to honors chem.

TimXie, I personally recommend Barrons for review material and PR for practice questions. Barrons practice questions are not very similar to the real test, especially the FRQ’s, and Princeton Review does not go in depth enough in terms of material presented in my opinion. So a combination of both would be the best.

@ idkwhatnametouse///thanks

You’re welcome.

so its okay if i directly start studying from the barrons book now (no prior chem knowledge) ?

It’s complex. You might need a textbook to be more in-depth.
