Princeton Review or Barrons for AP Chem

I've heard that Princeton Review is the best for AP Chem, but Barrons in general is the best for AP exams in general cause they have harder material than the real test and I'd rather have the real test easier. Which would you recommend? The 06-07 PR or the 2008 Barrons? (same year)

i have the same question..

I have the latest PR book and the older Barrons book (covers same content). PR is great if you know what you are doing and just need quick review. Barrons covers much more material and is good if you need indepth review and didn't pay attention in class or are self studying (like me). Also, Barrons has 6 prac tests compared to 2 for PR and more review problems at the end of each chapter.

I'm wondering if I should get both....hmmm.

Can anyone else confirm what tapedDuck is saying? I'm not sure whether I should get both since Barrons has more practice tests, or Princeton Review which I've heard better things about than Barrons.

I think PR is the best for chem... it covers exactly what you need to know.
tapedduck is right in saying that PR is great for a review, but not if you need to actually learn the material.

Seriously though, you shouldn't have to learn the material from a prep book. That should come from your class and your textbook. A prep book should always be used to learn the format of the test, to practice, and to review.

Also, PR is more accurate in terms of similarity to the actual test.

So, if I do need to actually learn some of the concepts because I didn't fully read the book, I should get Barrons?

Yeah, I suppose, but I personally think a textbook would serve you better.

I would get Barrons, because it is focused on the AP test. A textbook would give you an in-depth review, but you might overload yourself with useless information. The review book would also contain targetted practice.

at the end of the i day i think its down to what kind of a person you are: if u are uptight about things and are nervous, u would like to overprepare with barrons; if ur more confident about ur stuff and dont want to overload urself i think u wud us PR..

I cast my vote for PR!

i dont know lol i'm using PR

i'm using PR

PR ALL THE WAY

yeahman!
