AP Chemistry 2010 Study thread! Come on people!

I’ve seen that joke, but thanks for trying to cheer everyone up. :)

exam is in anhour

Done. 10 char

Easy.

Hoping for a high 4/ medium 5.

Really easy. Made silly mistakes… Not enough to not
get 5.

With a 65+ on the MC, what’s about the minimum FRQ score I would need for a 5?

Wasn’t that bad.

MC: skipped 25, hopefully will get 40+ right.
FRQ: left #4 blank, half of #5 blank.

I was aiming for a 3, and think it was an easy 3.

I dont take any of my AP’s until next week. I wonder how some of you guys take your 2-3 weeks before anyone in my school does. Hmmm…

^How is your school taking them that late? The entire nation is taking AP tests this week and took them last week.

Anyway, I thought the MC was a little harder than previous years, but I’m also used to a slightly slower pace, since when we do them in class we have like 10 more minutes. So, I skipped 6 ones I thought would take a long time/that looked a little difficult and didn’t get to come back to them
FRQ was really, really easy. It was fun, to be honest, especially Part A.

you’ll need around a 40/75 raw score on the FRQ to get a 5…so you can get around 50%/60% on the FRQ and still get a 5 (according to the 2008 curves)

did anyone get screwed over the amount of lab questions on the mc?

i was praying that we’d only have 1 or 2 like the 2008 and 2002 versions but noooo there were a bunch. i skipped nearly all of those haha

i skipped 6 in total

40/75=53% and with 50/60% on frq that’s still less than 60% overall. was the curve really that good??

^ i could’ve sworn that i read somewhere the curve was usually around 67% or something. i wouldn’t mind a 60% curve though

the curve for 2008 was 100/180 for a 5 i believe…

however, consensus among us is that 2010 was easier than 2008, so the curve will probably be harsher this year.

@Iamcool: there was like…some mildly challenging lab questions but so many of them were extremely easy

(ex: what to do if i splash some unknown substance in my eye?!) lol

ahahaha…
i wouldn’t call “so many of them” extremely easy…
but yeah i saw a few common sense ones
basically, I went into the test without memorizing solubility rules or any of the lab information (like equipment, etc. etc.) and i didn’t study any nuclear chem at all haha. I really should have memorized solubility rules though, it almost screwed me over in the frq

Expecting no more than 5-7 on MC. FRQ is def over 60% = 5 :)

i am so glad i did a bunch of practice tests last weekend because alot of the questions were similar :)

@ninmage621, i almost laughed when i saw the answer choices for that question " rinse the eyes with vinegar"

100/180=55%
still really low and i thought 08 was easier
