AP Chemistry 2010 Study thread! Come on people!

That test was embarrassingly easy but I know I made some stupid mistakes >.< . HAHA SOMEONE IN MY CLASS PICKED VINEGAR BECAUSE HE’S LIKE “Oh, this is too easy to be WATER” XD.

EDIT: By the way, it’s illegal to talk about the MC AT ALL (haha… okay) and the long answer for the next 48 hours. OOPS…

Eh, I dunno if I would call the test embarrassingly easy but it wasn’t hard either… I thought it was really fair. Multiple choice was average, part A was a bit tough but part B was pretty easy. I think I did pretty well.

i left like 23 questions on the mc blank…i did fairly well on the frq…can i still get a 5?

for the reactions was it a blue solution or a yellow solution for the btb (frq)

yeah I skipped 23 too haha I think a 5 is still very possible, assuming you did well on the ones you didn’t skip

guys isnt the curve 100/150 for a 5?

Thats 75 pts from the MC and 75 from the FRQ, 160 pts was the total for tests prior to the 2007 test change

100/180 would be way too lenient (not that its a bad thing ^^), anyone have more info on this?

Maybe the released ones were just harder than normal? I mean, I studied all of these weird complexes that showed up on released tests and the reactions that were on there today were SO MUCH easier. I thought the MC was about normal-level but the Part II’s were WAY easier. I didn’t use a SINGLE icebox (maybe I did something wrong? lol) and there were NO buffers (buffers is the test in my school that most AP kids fail and no one gets above a 90 on while all other tests are doable) which usually show up at least on number 1 or number 2.

yea 100/150 sounds way more realistic though i wouldn’t mind a more lenient curve either

anyone know what a 4 is?

heck we dont even know the curve for a 5? do you know? haha

but to answer ur question, a 4 is usually 10-15% below the 5 mark, so if 5 is a 80/100 (random percentage pulled out of my ass) then a 4 would be 65/100.

if my above curve of 100/150 is correct, a 4 would be around an 85/150

It was easier than I thought it would be :)

Some person in my Chem class decided to be “sick,” study more, and take the make up…

^ lol. that sounds like something i would do

i didn’t even finish the multiple choice, i left 10 blank…oh what i wouldnt give for unlimited time on standardized tests. i also love how last night i was on this thread looking for study tips and one person said that the first FRQ was probably going to be a Ksp problem, damn that person must be psychic…

Didn’t have any trouble really with the MC but the first set of FRQ were difficult to me.

Does anyone remember the exact wording of the vinegar eye wash problem?

well not the exact wording but it went something like…a contaminant was spattered in the eye…which of these would be the best thing to do or something

yeah the first frq question was kind of hard, i kept getting really weird values and it freaked me out, also something really stressful happened to me before the test so i couldn’t really focus.

hahaha, that problem made me laugh.

That test made me smile for the rest of the day. I sure love Chemistry.

how do you do the #1 part b…it was like calculate [Ag] in 50 mL?

This situation happened to us:

On the first part of Section 2, the proctor didn’t let us use the green sheets. I can’t write with a pen without doing a scratch-work.

Haha, is there something we can do to blame or something?

i know the proctor didnt let us use the gs as well…but we didnt HAVE TO write in pen right?
