AP Chemistry.

Does anyone know where I can find AP Chem lectures online? I've been searching for a long time... :(

this might help: http://www.tvgreen.com/apchem/apnotes.htm

MIT has some OCW that might be useful - go to MIT.edu and click on OCW. It's not designed for the AP though.

...I got rejected by MIT three months ago, so that piece of advice was particularly painful to give out :)

its not an embarassment to get rejected from MIT and you shouldnt feel bad about it...
the smartest people i knew didnt get into MIT..

Heres a million tests:

Wow. Thanks guys.

If I use http://www.sciencegeek.net/APchemistry/index.shtml notes and PR Chem book, would that give me a big advantage for next years AP Chem class?

Edit: BTW. Where might I find actually tests from AP Calc BC?

AP Chem exam format is changing next year... so previous tests won't be as accurate of a predictor anymore.

as far as i know, the first website posted by war chant is very useful :D

a useful textbook if you're willing to spend some money: chang 8th ed. about $130 for a new book.

lastly, a book not commonly known, but 5 steps to a 5 is probably the best prep book for chem.

Where did you hear that?

What is being changed?

I took the test this year, I just want to know if its going to be easier or harder.

I thought AP chem already changed a bit; Beer's (or the Beer-Lambert) Law was added to the AP syllabus a couple years ago. It may appear on the free response section (luckily for me it didn't this year) but I haven't seen any multiple choice questions about it.

I think the Free Response is being revamped so that there aren't any choices. You know, like we have 8 equations and we only had to solve 5? Well...apparently, from what I heard, they're only going to give you 5. Same thing goes with the "Pick one of these two questions". Boy...that really sucks. I mean, on this year's test, I would have completely bombed the exam if that was enacted...

I remember in the Barron's book they had a question about Beer's Law and I was like ??????? I'm actually surprised I got a 4 on the test since we did absolutely nothing in class the whole year. Our teacher would just let us sit back and relax half the time. And when we WERE doing work, it was nonsensical stuff...She gave us Iodide salt instead of Sodium Chloride one time...

my ap chem teacher went to a summer thing where they told him it's changing next year... to be HARDER. MrSpan is right in that we dont have choices, um, reaction predictions will be slightly different.

MIT has 3 levels of introductory chemistry. 3.091 (solid state chemistry) is probably most similar to AP, and 5.111 is harder. If you're ambitious, and want to go above and beyond, 5.112 is very hard.

MrSpam, I feel your pain. My ap chem teacher was very similar. I learned everything I needed for the AP test from Barrons... >.<

Download the CalBerkley Chem 101 Podcast. Good stuff.
