Could you please rank the difficulty of each AP course below? I would like to know the course load, which would be the best for colleges, how difficult the exam is, and how difficult the class is. Thank you.
Math:
- AP Statistics (10th grade - 12th grade)
- AP Calculus AB (11th grade - 12th grade)
- AP Calculus BC (12th grade)
English:
- AP English: Language and Composition (11th grade)
- AP English: Literature and Composition (12th grade)
Science:
- AP Chemistry (11th grade - 12th grade)
- AP Biology (11th grade - 12th grade)
- AP Environmental Science (11th grade - 12th grade)
- AP Physics I (11th grade - 12th grade)
- AP Physics II (12th grade)
Social Studies:
- AP Psychology (11th grade - 12th grade)
- AP World History (11th grade - 12th grade)
- AP US History (11th grade - 12th grade)
Language:
- AP Spanish (11th grade - 12th grade)
- AP German (11th grade - 12th grade)
- AP French (11th grade - 12th grade)
Math:
AP Stats should be “easier” than AP Calc (in my opinion). To go onto AP calc BC, you need to have knowledge on calc AB first.
English:
AP Eng. Lang is more of writing good arguments, etc.
AP lit is more of well… literature… You read literature stuff and write about them
(It’s English, if you know how to read and write then you should be good).
Science:
If you’re not a big fan of math, AP Environmental Sci would be good
AP Chem and AP bio are somewhat the same in math
AP physics 1 is where many students stumble and find it very hard to get through and understand. This class can be the hardest, in my opinion.
Ap physics 2 would be mentally less mind straining if you TOTALLY UNDERSTOOD AP Physics 1.
Social Studies:
U.S History was very easy for me
Ap Psyc would be easy IF you have a science/medical mind, and a great memory
Ap World History would be the hardest because it’s basically the history of different countries, etc
Lang:
If you are a native in any of those languages you stated, you would have a big advantage, but Spanish overall, is the “easiest” and most common language people now take in school.
But here’s a catch on AP calculus:
If you failed the AP calc AB, lets say a 2, but you move onto AP Calc BC and got a 5, then that 5 would also be drafted to your AB test as well, and you’ll receive two 5s on your calc tests.
Ap calc BC usually have a passing rate of 50%+ because they curve it really hard.
