I am a junior. I learn my freshman and sophomore year in Ethiopia. And in Ethiopia there was no Ap or honors class. And when i register for this year my counselor just choose me the courses. I am taking honors anatomy and physiology, pre calc,APUSH, POD, Theater production 1, economic, english 11…and then i just register for AP biology exam only because my counselor says it doesn’t fit your schedule. I already take chemistry ,physics and biology. Now i my junior year for quarter one i have 4.1 gpa. i am planning to take Ap psychology, Ap chemistry, AP Calculus AB, CCP English for my senior year. i want to get pre medicine program and i am so stressed out because i have only 1 AP class in my transcript for my junior year and when i heard university want to see your junior year result not your senior… so would it help me if i take these classes in my senior year and would university understand the reason I didn’t take more AP classes?
Pre-med can be done with any major at four year colleges that have the typical science courses.
Do not worry about not having that many AP courses in high school. But be aware that getting into medical school is highly competitive. High college GPA is necessary, but not sufficient, for admission to medical school.
No university expects you to take classes that are not available. AP courses are an American (and to a lesser extent, Canadian) phenomenon. And transfers have limited selection in courses. Your GC can explain.
Thanks, so should i take Ap calc,Ap chem, Ap psyc,CCP English in my senior year? Will colleges or university look for that i mean do they consider my senior schedule or classes in the process of admissions?
