This is the first time that someone said AP Chem is very easy. If anything, it’s one of the toughest AP courses. Also, courses like AP Chem and AP Bio don’t require double periods; CB simply suggests that the courses should meet for 5 hours/week, I believe. My AP science courses start before 1st period to meet the CB’s recommendation.

Soph
Ap Human Geography (Self Study)

Junior
Ap Chem
AP Cal B/C
Ap French Lang
Ap Lang

Senior
Ap Bio
Ap Lit
Ap Calc B/c
Ap Stat

Can someone tell em how hard these are?

Chem and Bio are REALLY hard, and you shouldn’t take them unless you love the subject. English Language and Statistics are the easiest and can be self-studied. They are good whether you like the subject or not because there isn’t much subject matter to learn and the subject matter isn’t hard to learn.

@Mrluggs ^^

AP Human Geography is very easy. Instant 5 right there.

AP Chemistry is very hard. Prepare to die.
AP Calc BC is easy if you are good at math. It’s just like any other math course; as long as you have grasped the basics and information from the previous math level, you are set. don’t be set off by the “AP” label.

AP French Language is same as Calculus. If you did French I-III well and paid attention, it’s just rising to another level.

AP Language is not necessarily hard just tedious in that you will have to do write and interpret a lot of essays. Only hard if you are not a fan of English, poems, or reading in general.

AP Biology is memorization. Easy if you are good at memorizing, difficult if not and if you hate Biology.

AP Literature is same as AP Language.

Lol why Calc BC again

AP Statistics is same as AP Human Geography.

SUMMARY

Easy: AP Human Geography, AP Statistics
Low Moderate: AP Calculus BC, AP French Language
Average Moderate: AP Biology*
High Moderate: AP Language, AP Literature
Hard: AP Chemistry

= depends on your personality

mmm I signed up for AP Chem next year and now I’m wondering whether or not I should take it

@Truffle
thanks haha.
And I meant to put Ap Cal AB and BC

2 english
3 science
2 history
1 math

***??

wow double you tee eff is starred out?

Edit: read that you aren’t taking them all in the same year. You should be fine.

I don’t get why everyone says AP Chem is hard. I found it ridiculously easy, but I’m a math and science person. Still, I did not find it hard in the least.

^^ It’s over multiple years of high school. To OP, it sounds very reasonable and completely manageable.

Yea, I didn’t realize that

shauniboni, consider your class schedule and how much you want to learn the subject. Truffliepuff made a good point. It requires a ton of dedication and an affinity to science. Also, the College Board scheduled the AP Chem exam on the first Monday, which might bother instructors and students. On the other hand, since it is one the toughest AP courses, you will have a small edge because you’re challenging yourself.

All that said, if you know you’ll handle the topic well and you’re aiming high, go for it.

oh not at the same time? lol thats nothing.
i thought you meant all of them at same time. cause you would’ve been f***ed in every way imaginable.

@action52: i guess i consider myself a mathy/ sciencey person! for some reason, it just clicks in my head! so yeah, sure i guess why not? =D

it’s chemistry. Really easy, at least to me. Edit: The rest of this statement sounded arrogant.
If you get chemistry concepts, and can do the math, AP Chem will be easy to you. I’m taking IB Chem HL, but harassing my teacher to teach me the math.

What? AP English Lit definitely not extremely hard, honestly everyone in my school gets a 4 minimum on that AP and that’s for the slackers who didn’t do MC practice tests and didn’t get through the entire test. A test that’s easy for one person could be ridiculously difficult for someone else. Just think about the past math, chem, etc… classes you’ve taken and if you’ve done well or you really enjoyed learning the info, then you should be fine on the AP. If you don’t like the subject and are just taking it for AP credit, I would really reconsider your choices because there’s bound to be other classes worth taking.

@OP - Did you start this thread just to brag? Because, like other posters have mentioned, 8 is not bad. I actually didn’t find any AP class HARD, they’re all just a lot of unnecessary work.

AP English Language and Composition - You learn some grammar but mostly how to write in different styles. The AP focuses not so much on content, but how you write it. The multiple choice asks you how the “diction” conveys “blah blah blah.”
AP English Literature and Composition - Easy class even for people who don’t like to write. Just suck up to the teacher. The AP test was easy. Lots of poetry.
AP Physics - Easy, just a lot of equations to memorize. I don’t understand anything I did, but I know how to do it. This was the hardest AP I took. I took 20.
AP Calculus - AB/BC? BC was really easy. Not particularly memorable.
AP American History - US History? It depends on how much you want to study. There were no outlandish questions, but there’s just a ton to know. Some of the questions on the AP were extremely specific. The essays are really general about one topic. So if you didn’t study that topic, you’re screwed. But if you studied it briefly, you should be fine.
AP European History - Hmm, easy class. A bunch of memorization.
AP Chemistry - Easy class. Easy test. A lot of the multiple choice questions are really basic. As in PV=nrt.
AP Biology - The AP is WEIRD. Like there were some questions that were so so so easy and some that were really specific about nothing important.

Ok that makes sense you’re not doing them all at the same time. In that case, those look totally fine. Do it. =)
