AP classes to take if I want to major in psychology?

Hello, it’s currently registration week at my school and I’m trying to decide my senior year schedule. I want to major in psychology and I am unsure of what ap classes would be best to take. This year I chose to take early college psychology and English instead of AP psychology and AP Lang because the AP teachers for the subjects aren’t very good. What other AP classes besides psychology or English would be good to take? I would take AP stats but at my school it’s harder than AP calc because the stats teacher can’t teach. So as of right now I’m considering AP calc AB, AP bio, and maybe APUSH or AP physics 1.

Besides psychology and English, other courses that may be useful (as AP or college courses):

statistics
calculus
biology
other social studies (economics, sociology, anthropology, etc.)
computer science (AP CS principles or a similar college course)

Of course, it is not required to take AP or college courses in all of the above in high school, since you can take them in college if required or desired.

Be sure to complete the well rounded college prep base curriculum: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/high-school-life/2055289-faq-high-school-college-prep-base-curriculum.html

I agree with @ucbalumnus …also look at your colleges of interest and see what science/math classes you would need to take and what scores you need to get on AP tests to place out of it.

For Psychoogy you will probably have to take a stats course in college…but it is okay to take Calc now.
You not only want to prepare for your major, but take rigorous enough classes that when you compete against your peers for the admittance to the college you want to get into.

The next level in Dual Enrollment Psychology at your college; statistics through dual enrollment also, or as a non AP class. AP Calc AB can be a good idea and definitely AP Bio and/or Anatomy&Physiology. I would also recommend AP World History or through Dual Enrollment Cultural Anthropology (so that you encounter other ways of thinking, other civilizations.) Finally, a foreign language of your choice at the next level (ie., if you took Spanish 3, take Spanish 4).
