I’m a junior this year and I currently take 4 VERY hard ap classes: ap us history, ap calc ab, ap chemistry and ap english and lang. I will probably end with a low b for calc and 85 is for the other 3 classes. These grades are non weighted as in before the +8 points. Will this be extremely negative towards my gpa/ chances at getting into competitive schools? My top choice is University of Southern California.
I don’t think these grades are that bad, although they are definitely not ideal. In comparison to other students all over the nation, your four ap classes are by no means difficult enough that you cannot get an A in (there are plenty of students who do). That being said, USC is not an extremely selective school (in comparison to Stanford, etc.), so although the Bs may hurt your chance, it’s not going to be detrimental.
Also grades are only part of the package - make sure your other things (ec, etc.) are good.
