AP Classes

I have never taken AP classes before and next year I will be taking AP bio and AP Spanish. Will I be able to adjust to these much more harder classes if I am not used to this difficult level. I have taken honors classes for the first this past year (junior year) and I am an average student (3.5 GPA) will I do okay in these classes?

You will adjust, it might take a little time but if you use your time wisely and get your work done I don’t think you will have problems. Be sure to use all your resources like review books, extra help, and online resources.

(Also, it’s good that you took honors for the first time last year and APs this year! it shows growth to colleges and makes you stand out from “average” students)

@ahardboiledegg Thank you for your helpful respone!!!

Did you take honors Spanish and honors bio? If so, I think you’ll be fine. If you didn’t take honors bio, it’s 100% doable as I took it freshman year without honors bio. It was sort of a rude awakening, but I eventually adjusted. For AP Spanish, you need to have taken other courses in order to know Spanish in order to do well. Otherwise, you won’t understand anything.

Bio + chem with a good grade will go a long way to making AP bio doable. It’ll take some adjustment - just pay attention in class, do the homework, ask questions, don’t wait for the test to review and see the teacher.
For AP Spanish, hopefully you’ve taken Spanish 4?

@goodperson200 I didn’t take honors bio. Do you mind telling me what kind of student you are if you don’t mind me asking. I would just like to know if you learning is similar to mine. Thank you for answering

@MYOS1634 Thank you for the adivice. And I have taken three years of Spanish already all with a final grade of an A. I also took Spanish Honors and ended with a 95

@Seniorstudent01 AP bio is a lot of memorization. It was a lot of work but just do the work and try to memorize and understand everything. I read the textbook a lot to help clarify things. My teacher also used masteringbiology with interactive videos and activities to help us. But, in order to use that website, your teacher must purchase a course so check to see if your teacher is going to use it. If not, crashcourse should do it. We also had a summer assignment over basic biochemistry, but that wasn’t too hard. Like I said, I went from 8th grade honors science to AP bio my freshman year. Sure it was much harder than it used to be, but it is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT doable. I hope this explains enough and best of luck!!!

So if you think about it, you were taking College Prep courses sophomore year. How would you get to being able to handle College level courses? By taking some honors Junior year, adding some APs senior year and then being ready for college classes for freshman year of college.
