AP Comparative Government Study Thread 2011

@feareman: What practice exam did you take? If it’s not an ethel woods one, which is it? :)

What are you guys getting for the Ethel Woods practice exams? I just took one, and got 46/55.

do we need to know about the EU? its in the ethel woods guide, albeit a small section.

Does anyone have any released exams for this?

lets do thissssss

Good Luck all,

I shalt be having my exam first before u Americano’s, wish me luck ;)

If you get a 81% percent on multiple choice, what are your chances to get a 5 with your free responses, like how well do you have to do on them?

Our teacher gave us a sample examination.

we’ve also been given some fairly concise packets for each country… takes about an hour to go through them the first time. I’m feeling more confident for this, now that I’ve studied.

Any chance you could scan those and send them to me?

I’d love to see that too
Btw, does anybody have the key to Ethel Wood’s book? It’s hard to do the MCQ without knowing the answer…

@Feareman: I would love if you could send me the sample examination. What year is it? Or is it not an official but still legitimate AP Exam Practice? Well if you feel like being nice, I would greatly appreciate it e-mailed to me at Danielabarca777@gmail.com
:))

So who’s taking the test tomorrow? I’m self studying and I think I’m ready. Before I started stuying hardcore today, I took a MC mock exam from the Ethel Wood book and easily got five range (78% of the questions correct, with ~70% needed for a five), but I’m a bit worried about the FRQs. Politics is my strong suit so that’s why the MCs come easy to me, but I’m just hoping that the FRQs aren’t insanely hard. Any tips?

Ok guys, 4 days of studying for this exam, but I think I’m ready.

Can anyone explain the difference between corporatism and state-corporatism? I don’t really get the difference from Ethel Wood’s book

Practice Exam for those of you looking for a last minute study tool.

Wish I would have found this thread earlier. I have quite a bit of prep material. Literally entire 8 page study guides on each of the countries that goes into enough detail. Ethel Wood’s book really does help. I also have a few practice tests, and I have the key for the answers to Ethel’s book.

Oops. Oh well, maybe next year I’ll scan it for those needing it. Till then chao.

Edit: Good luck everyone! Hopefully everyone gets a 5!

@Smushed: SEND THEM TO ME PLEASE!!! :] (As long as they are not the Ethel Wood’s ones).

I used this to study

^ you HAVE to be kidding me, you show this to us the day of the exam?! lol

Anyways, here’s the deal. We have all spent a great amount of time studying and self-studying the exam. We can do it! Good luck to everyone! I am really depending on luck, especially because I read Russia, China, Mexico, Iran, and Nigeria all yesterday, barely reading it at, mostly skimming. Let’s all come back with 5’s!

^ Yeah. Wow. That is one amazing site. I have 13 minutes before I have to leave for school -.-
