AP corrospondence

I am a Canadian student who will soon attend a 'progressive' high school in the fall and as such, do not supply AP courses or any higher reaching classes because the courses are supposed to be AP calibre by themselves.

My other choices of high schools is a very badly ranked prov. high school (a teacher fired for Nazi propaganda and the highest drop out rate in the province) and an arts high (IAA) that also makes the same claims as the school above.

Would a college or university look down upon this? I've talked to many counselor's and they've all told me they have no idea...

If so, where else can I recieve AP courses either on the web, through corrospondence or through insitutions?

I'd like to know as well. My school is very small ~300 students and they state that all of their classes are taught on the "honors" level compared to other school districts, and I always wondered how this fared with adcoms.

No - my school does the same thing. I attend a private school, so obviously the school will not offer AP classes because then prospective parents would respond by simply sending their kids to public schools. "You teach AP classes? I don't need to go to private school to get those." Colleges will not look down upon this.

MAKE SURE to let them know, however, that you took the most challenging courses available to you. If you really want to teach yourself the AP curriculum (which really isn't that hard if you've got the drive), you're going to have to have some school administrator order the tests for you, contact a teacher at a different high school order an extra test for you (if they administer AP tests), or go to the states. If you're interested in self study, I started a thread about the easiest AP courses to self teach - search for it.

Good luck.
